This website (the "Site") is the personal academic portfolio of Guru Ratan Satsangee. It is a static site built from plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with no server-side application, database, user accounts, or contact form. This policy explains what little data is involved in visiting it.
What This Site Does Not Do
- It does not have a contact form, sign-up, or account system, so it never asks you for your name, email address, or any other personal information.
- It does not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising services.
- It does not set any tracking or advertising cookies.
Local Storage
The dark/light theme toggle saves your preference in your browser's local storage, under a single key (site-theme). This value stays on your device. It is never transmitted to this Site or to any third party, and clearing your browser's site data for this domain removes it.
Hosting & Server Logs
Like any website, the server or hosting platform that delivers these pages to your browser may automatically log standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you requested, for security and operational purposes. The owner of this Site does not have access to or make use of these logs; they are governed by the hosting provider's own privacy policy.
Third-Party Services
- Google Fonts: this Site loads typefaces (Inter, Source Serif 4, IBM Plex Mono) from Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com). Loading a font from Google's servers may expose your IP address to Google, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. - Outbound links: pages on this Site link out to external services, including Google Scholar, LinkedIn, ORCID, and email, for information and contact purposes. Once you click through to any of these, you are subject to that service's own privacy policy, not this one.
Cookies
This Site does not use cookies. The only client-side data it stores is the local-storage theme preference described above.
Children's Privacy
This Site is a professional academic portfolio and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, regardless of age.
